2nd Battalion, 1st Marines

2nd Battalion, 1st Marines (2/1) is the 2nd of 4 Battalions that make up the first Marine Regiment, and is based out of Camp Horno (part of Camp Pendleton) in California.

2/1 is made up of about 1000 Marines and Navy Corpsman. It is divided into 5 Companies; Echo, Fox, Golf, Weapons, and Headquarters and Support (H&S).

2/1 is known as "The Professionals" and back in 2003-2005 used the callsign "Gunsmoke".
